The New York Giants made the decision to part ways with former Coach of the Year Brian Daboll midway through their disastrous 2025 season. But while the Giants are still looking for a replacement, Daboll could land on his feet early if this week goes well.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Daboll is slated to interview with the Tennessee Titans this coming Friday. The Titans similarly fired their head coach in the middle of the 2025 season, parting ways with Brian Callahan after a 1-5 start and a 4-19 overall record.

"Sources: The #Titans will interview former #Giants HC Brian Daboll for their open HC job on Friday. First known NFL HC interview for Daboll," Schultz reported this morning.

Daboll & Cam?

Daboll rose to prominence with the Buffalo Bills as their offensive coordinator from 2018 to 2022, turning Josh Allen into a megastar while working with him. He parlayed that success into the New York Giants' head coaching job, where he promptly worked similar magic on starting QB Daniel Jones (for a little while at least).

Daboll not only led the Giants to the playoffs in his first year with the team, he led them to their first playoff win in over a decade.

But things went downhill pretty quickly after that. The team went just 6-11 the next year, 3-14 the year after that and fired him after a 2-8 start to this season. The Giants finished the season with a 4-13 overall record.

The Tennessee Titans have a young quarterback in Cam Ward, who they believe can usher in a new era of sustained success - if they get the right coach to get the most out of him.

As a rookie, Ward completed 59.8% of his passes for 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns with seven interceptions. But he was sacked a league-high 55 times and was dropped on over 9% of his dropbacks. The team might need serviceable offensive linemen as much as a head coach.

Perhaps Daboll can succeed where Callahan failed.
