Las Vegas Raiders star tight end Brock Bowers returned to practice Saturday and is expected to play in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Bowers, who missed Thursday’s session, was seen wearing a knee brace over a sleeve but looked strong in his return. “He was great,” Carroll said. “He did really well in practice today.” The rookie standout is officially listed as questionable on the team’s injury report.

The former Georgia star had a record-setting rookie season in 2024, finishing with 112 receptions — the most ever by a rookie tight end — and 1,194 receiving yards, which ranked 11th all-time for any rookie.

Bowers picked up right where he left off in 2025, catching five passes for 103 yards in just over two and a half quarters during last week’s 20-13 win over the Patriots. His night ended early, however, after taking an awkward hit to the side of his knee from New England safety Craig Woodson. He played one more snap before exiting the game and did not return.

If Bowers is unable to go Monday night, Michael Mayer would take over as the starter. The former second-round pick from Notre Dame caught four passes for 38 yards in the opener.
