Broncos Re-Sign Five ERFA Players For 2025

The Denver Broncos brought back five players who were listed as ERFA's. An ERFA is an Exclusive Rights Free Agent, which applies to players who have two or fewer seasons played in the NFL with an expired contract.

Of the Broncos' five ERFA's, they brought back everyone. Those five players are now under contract in 2025 after the Broncos extended qualifying offers, which the players can't refuse. The players include two key defenders, a backup safety, a tight end, and a defensive tackle.

The Broncos have tendered all five of their ERFAs as expected.

The most prominent player brought back as an ERFA is cornerback Ja'Quan McMillan. McMillan was the Broncos starting slot cornerback in 2024. He had two interceptions, including a pick-six of Jameis Winston to seal the Broncos win against the Cleveland Browns.

The Broncos brought back outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman, who logged an impressive 21 pressures and five sacks in his rookie season. Tillman was an undrafted free agent in 2024, making him eligible to be an ERFA.

Denver also brought back defensive tackle Jordan Jackson. In his first year getting on the field since being selected in the 2022 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints, Jackson had one sack and nine pressures.

Devon Key is another ERFA being brought back. The safety joined the Broncos practice squad in 2022. He finally saw the field on defense in 2024, where he got a sack and had 33 tackles.

The only offensive player to be an ERFA is tight end Lucas Krull. The 26-year-old had 152 yards on 19 receptions in 2024.

The Broncos brought all ERFA-eligible players back for 2025. McMillan and Tillman are the two most important players brought back, as both are expected to make major contributions in 2025.
