Browns chief of staff Callie Brownson pleads guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence

Cleveland Browns chief of staff Callie Brownson has pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Brownson entered the guilty plea on Tuesday, the same day it was revealed she was arrested on May 27. The plea will allow her to avoid jail time.

Brownson had two other charges dismissed: one for speeding and one for a blood-alcohol level above .17. She paid $780 in court costs and fines and had her driver's license suspended.

Brownson was pulled over for driving 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. Her blood-alcohol content was .2150, which is nearly three times the legal limit.

The Browns said they will take "the appropriate disciplinary actions." The NFL could also discipline her.

Brownson coached the Browns' tight ends in one game last season and the wide receivers in another after several assistants were sidelined with COVID-19. It made her the first woman in league history to serve as a primary position coach in an NFL game.

A Brownson game-signed ball and her sideline jacket were put on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in November.
