Shedeur Sanders of the Cleveland Browns is entering his second season in the NFL. Sanders was selected by the Browns with the 144th pick in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, though many expected him to be drafted much earlier. The 6-foot-2 quarterback made his debut in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens after fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion.
Sanders had a tough first game, completing only 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards with an interception in the 23-16 loss to Baltimore. The Trinity Christian School graduate was named the starter for Week 12 and led Cleveland to a 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, completing 11 of 20 passes for 209 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
The 2024 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner started the final seven games of the year, completing 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions. With NFL legend Deion Sanders as his father and former head coach at Colorado, Sanders is not one to shy away from the spotlight. Although Sanders is in the middle of a competition for the Browns’ starting quarterback job in 2026, he is also focused on a separate offseason competition.
This week, Sanders took to social media to promote a competition for a new personal barber in the Northeast Ohio area. In an Instagram post, Sanders shared a graphic with the words “Shedeur’s Legendary Barber Competition” along with the date and location. The submission deadline for applicants was Wednesday. The event is set to take place May 24 in Cleveland.
“Link in bio,” Sanders wrote in the Instagram caption.
Cleveland will open the 2026 NFL regular season on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 13, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET.
