Browns’ Quinshon Judkins gets huge injury update

As the Cleveland Browns deal with a quarterback competition between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders, the team is looking to have a full offense heading into training camp. With rumors surrounding the Browns, this NFL insider has good news for the team dealing with running back Quinshon Judkins.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN would say that Judkins will be a “full go” at training camp after dealing with an ankle injury, as the NFL insider would even label him as a “bell cow” running back.

“The Browns’ QB battle is on,” Fowler wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Also, good news for either QB — I’m told Quinshon Judkins (ankle/fibula) will be a full go at the start of camp, building off his spring progress.”

“The good news for the Browns, whoever the quarterback is, Quinshon Judkins, Quick add, running back who hurt his ankle. I’m told he will be full go for the start of training camp. So they have a bell cow for the new QB,” Fowler said on the “NFL Live” segment on ESPN.

Quinshon Judkins waits to see who the Browns’ starting QB will be

As Judkins was selected with the 36th overall pick out of Ohio State in the 2025 NFL Draft, he looks to improve after finishing with 827 yards and seven touchdowns in his rookie season. It remains to be seen who will give him the ball between Watson and Sanders, as while the former is the favorite, Fowler said the latter had a late surge and head coach Todd Monken needs more time to decide.

“I’m hearing that the Browns walked away from the off-season going into camp, saying ‘We need to see more.’ That Shedeur Sanders had a nice late surge at the end of OTAs and mini camp, closed the gap a little bit. Most people around the league still say that Deshaun Watson is the favorite,” Fowler said.

While it remains to be seen who the starting quarterback for Cleveland will be, there’s no denying that Judkins will be a major part of the offense.
