With mutual interest between Garrett and the Rams reportedly growing over the last several months, the move is instantly one of the biggest defensive trades in NFL history.
Some reports linked Garrett to the Seattle Seahawks, but he’ll ultimately head to L.A. in pursuit of a Super Bowl.
The trade is reminiscent of another blockbuster trade the Rams pulled off in 2021. In that move, they acquired franchise QB Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions.
Now, Garrett will look to bolster the Rams’ defense and make them stronger contenders.
The 29-year-old is a seven-time Pro Bowler and is fresh off a season in which he broke the NFL’s all-time career sack record. With the Super Bowl back in L.A. on Valentine’s Day, the Rams seemingly have their crosshairs set on a ring.
