Buccaneers GM drops a hint on NFL Draft target

The NFL Draft is right around the corner, and interest is brewing regarding what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might do with the No. 15 overall pick. On Wednesday, general manager Jason Licht may have hinted at what the organization may do with its first-round selection.

While talking with media members on Wednesday, Licht admitted he loves this year’s tight end class , according to Pewter Report. Although the Buccaneers re-signed Cade Otton to a three-year, $30 million contract, it sounds like Licht is very impressed with the rookie tight end group.

“This year’s draft has a lot of tight ends,” said Licht. “So, just wanted to do our due diligence and get to know them as much as we can. Just like we do with most positions… It’d be great to add a tight end to the roster that brings an element that maybe some of the others don’t. We’re happy with our group right now, but we’re just doing our due diligence.

#Bucs GM Jason Licht sounds like he is a fan of this year’s draft class at the tight end position. Tampa Bay interviewed a slew of tight ends at the NFL Combine and has continued to bring them in on 30 visits after re-signing TE Cade Otton.

With a top 15 pick in the NFL Draft, the Buccaneers are right in range to potentially select one of the top tight ends in the class. Kenyon Sadiq, who played for the Oregon Ducks for three seasons, is considered the. top tight end of the draft, and many expect him to be the first tight end taken off the board.

Other notable tight ends in this year’s draft include Eli Stowers out of Vanderbilt, who showcased some serious athleticism at the NFL Combine, and Michael Trigg out of Baylor. Many believe tight end is a positional need for the Buccaneers, which might just be music to Jason Licht’s ears.
