“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who opened training camp this week with a trio of offensive linemen on the physically unable to perform list, restored some depth tot the unit on Friday by signing sixth-year guard Michael Jordan and first-year tackle Tyler McLellan. Jordan most recently started 11 games for the New England Patriots last season while McLellan spent his 2024 rookie season on the Los Angeles Chargers’ injured reserve list.

In a corresponding move, the Buccaneers waived tackle Silas Dzansi due to a failed physical. The move followed the team placing tackle Garret Greenfield on the reserve/retired list on Wednesday, which had already freed up one spot.

Tyler McLellan, is a 6-8, 355-pound tackle. He played college football at Campbell University in North Carolina. He earned All-Big South second-team honors twice and first-team honors in 2021. Undrafted in 2024, McLellan signed with the Chargers but suffered a season-ending knee injury in preseason. He was placed on injured reserve. Then he was waived by Los Angeles in June to make room for tackle Elijah Ellis.

Michael Jordan, a 6-6, 312-pound guard, boasts 40 career starts and 67 games played under his belt. The Ohio State alum was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft. He started 19 games at left guard in his first two seasons with the Bengals before being waived in August 2021. Jordan was quickly claimed by the Carolina Panthers, where he appeared in 28 games with 10 starts over two seasons. He later spent time on Green Bay’s practice squad in 2023 and started several games for the New England Patriots last season as their left guard.

Silas Dzansi signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2023. Over his first two NFL seasons, he’s shuttled between Tampa Bay’s practice squad and injured reserve. Dzansi was among the team’s players who started training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. By doing so he joined left tackle Tristan Wirfs and guard Sua Opeta.
