With Darnell Wright, Braxton Jones, and Kiran Amegadjie already on the Chicago Bears roster, the need for an offensive tackle is questionable. Sure, the Bears could upgrade at left tackle, but it is not a pressing need, especially with the state of the interior offensive line. However, some options exist to move on from Jones if new head coach Ben Johnson wants to bring in some new blood. The best opportunity for the Bears to find new talent at the offensive tackle position will be in the early rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
On Tap Sports Net's Building The Board scouts Steve Letizia and Quinten Krzysko dove into the offensive tackle position. You can tune in on Apple, Spotify, or YouTube!
The Bears will add multiple offensive linemen this off-season. As it stands, they have three massive holes in the middle of the offensive line. Whether that means tackles, guards, or centers, the 2025 NFL Draft will be the best place to look for inexpensive additions with upside. So, let’s break down a few of their potential targets. You can find our video breakdowns, scouting reports, mock drafts, and other content on the Building The Board homepage!
Since the end of the regular season, the Building The Board team has worked hard to build a draft board for the Bears. This board accounts for scheme fit, draft preferences from previous classes, and positional needs.
Our scouts have been reviewing players available in the 2025 NFL Draft, aiming to create a final top-100 draft board for the Bears. In the latest installment of our podcast, Building The Board, we discussed our initial batch of players, including some offensive tackle prospects the Bears should consider.
We currently have just over 80 players graded, but we still need to return to the tape to complete the top 100. Look out for future podcast episodes, as we plan to knock out two positional breakdowns per week. Next week, we will have an episode for the interior offensive line!
