Caleb Williams update emerges amid Bears training camp

Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are deep into their training camp. They will enter a crucial season with a chance to prove that last year’s success is not an outlier. The quarterback led the team to an 11-6 record, the NFC North crown and reached the Divisional Round.

Several analysts doubted Williams’ ability to bring success to the franchise. However, he silenced them by delivering strong performances. He finished with 330-of-568 completions for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner looks to guide the team to a deeper postseason run and continue to shine under the national spotlight. Chicago will play seven primetime games, giving fans around the country more opportunities to watch Williams and Co. in action.

Caleb Williams impresses during Day 7 of training camp

Williams reportedly enjoyed a strong Day 7 performance at training camp. He showed off his efficiency and finished the session with a highlight reel play and five touchdowns.

” Caleb Williams went 9-of-10 in a 7-on-7 drill that resulted in five touchdowns,” CHGO’s Patrick Norton said. “And the highlight of the day: a one-handed sliding touchdown.”

The USC product continues to receive praise for the improvements he’s shown in the offseason. His coaches and teammates have reportedly seen his improved leadership, and he is more vocal in commanding the offense. Chicago added proven veterans to surround Williams with more talent and addressed positional needs. The team also drafted Dillon Thieneman to boost the secondary and plug the hole at safety.

Additionally, Williams will have a motivated Darnell Wright protecting him. The offensive tackle signed a historic four-year, $116 million extension and aims to repay the franchise’s trust. His rush protection will be key in giving the 24-year-old more time to scan the field and make the right plays. The Bears will open their 2026 regular season on the road on Sept. 13 versus the Carolina Panthers.
