GLENDALE – The Arizona Cardinals offensive line has grown to be one of the strongest position groups on the roster. Arizona has had a top rushing attack in the NFL the past couple of years and it can be credited to the offensive line dominating in the trenches. The lineman has helped the offense roll to a whole new level, and the leader of that position group is center Hjalte Froholdt.
Head coach Jonathan Gannon spoke on Tuesday about Froholdt’s importance to the team. Gannon called the third-year Cardinals lineman the “glue” for the entire team ahead of next season.
“He’s kinda the glue.”

Gannon values the Denmark native’s opinion on how to run and talk to the team, calling him a pro’s pro. Froholdt has been on two other teams before Arizona, including the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns. The sixth-year NFL veteran has been under the tutelage of stellar coaches like Bill Belichick and Kevin Stefanski, understanding how elite coaches talk to their players.
Since Froholdt’s arrival in 2023, Arizona has had the fourth and seventh most rushing yards in the league, while being second in yards per carry in both years. PFF has recognized Froholdt’s heroics, ranking him the 10th best center heading into the 2025 season, having the 4th best run-blocking grade with a 82.9.
The Cardinals offensive line is young compared to opponents, but Froholdt is wise beyond his years and has led his position group to be one of the most consistent part of the franchise in the past two seasons.
