Cardinals rookie Zaven Collins arrested for reckless driving

Arizona Cardinals rookie linebacker Zaven Collins was arrested Sunday morning for reckless driving.

According to TMZ Sports, the 16th selection of this year's NFL Draft was allegedly driving 76 mph in a 35-mph zone and was taken into custody. "A traffic stop was conducted, and Mr. Collins was placed under arrest for the violations," officials told TMZ.

According to TMZ and Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, the Cardinals had not commented on the matter as of Monday afternoon. It's unknown if the 22-year-old will face a fine or suspension from the club, but he could be disciplined under the NFL's personal conduct policy.

The Cardinals completed their mandatory minicamp earlier this month, but coaches and front-office members can't be pleased their first-round acquisition landed in hot water with the law so early into his first NFL summer break. Assuming Collins is available in Week 1, he will likely be in the starting lineup right out of the gates.
