The Los Angeles Rams will take on the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18 at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, Jan. 4. Kickoff will be at 1:25 p.m. PT on FOX.

This will mark the 96th all-time meeting between the Rams and Cardinals where the former leads the head-to-head series 54-41-2 including the postseason. Los Angeles previously beat Arizona 45-17 in Arizona in Week 14.

The Rams will be playing for playoff seeding as they can finish as either the fifth or sixth seed. L.A. will be the fifth seed with a win over Arizona and a Seattle Seahawks win against the San Francisco 49ers. However, they will end up the sixth seed with a loss to the Cardinals or a 49ers win against the Seahawks.

The fifth seed will take on the winner of the NFC South, which will come down between the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The sixth seed will either play the Chicago Bears or Philadelphia Eagles, whoever finishes third in the conference.

Arizona should be looking to lose its final game to secure its draft positioning, while Los Angeles and head coach Sean McVay desperately need to find a way to snap out of their funk. The loss to the Seahawks was troubling for several reasons, and it seems like the team is struggling to regain its confidence.

Los Angeles’ loss to the Atlanta Falcons was surprising given that the latter has also been eliminated from postseason contention. The Falcons were able to take advantage of an undermanned Rams squad that was starting two backup offensive linemen and deploying a leaky secondary, leading to several miscues throughout the game.

McVay has already announced that the starters will be suiting up for Week 18, citing a need for the team to play better football. Normally, the team decides to rest its veterans but McVay clearly doesn’t like how they’ve looked and feels the reps are more important with the playoffs around the corner.

Kobie Turner hopes Rams play Seahawks again in playoffs

The Rams lost in overtime in brutal fashion to the Seahawks, costing them a chance to win the NFC West and secure the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. Los Angeles could have had an extra week of rest and home-field advantage, but instead must punch their ticket to the Super Bowl with three road wins.

As of now, it seems like the path toward the Super Bowl will go through Seattle and Kobie Turner is hoping to see them again in the postseason.
