CeeDee Lamb returned from training camp to unwanted news. Thieves broke into the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver’s Fairview home on July 30. They stole property valued at more than $300,000.
The five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver was in Oxnard, California, with the Cowboys. A worker renovating the property noticed a broken window the next day. He called police after checking the home.
Four luxury bags made up part of the stolen items. Fairview police have no known suspects. The investigation remains active at the time of writing.

Lamb joins a growing list of NFL players hit by property crimes. Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes, Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow (who played the Cowboys at the time of his incident), and Philadelphia’s Saquon Barkley faced similar issues recently. Linval Joseph, another Cowboy, also suffered a home burglary in 2024.
Organized groups often time these break-ins around team travel schedules. Training camp leaves many players’ houses empty for weeks. The Cowboys spent 26 days in Southern California before returning early Sunday.
Lamb, 27, signed a four-year extension worth $136 million through 2029. He remains a cornerstone of the Cowboys’ offense alongside George Pickens. The pair forms one of the most dangerous receiving duos in the NFC.
The Cowboys open the regular season on September 13 against the New York Giants. Lamb enters the year coming off a 2025 campaign of 75 catches for 1,077 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. He still posted strong efficiency numbers despite missing time.
Fans and teammates will hope the off-field distraction fades quickly. Security concerns for high-profile athletes continue to rise across the league. Police labs are still processing evidence from the scene.
CeeDee Lamb faces an unwelcome start to the final stretch of the offseason. The star receiver lost valuable items but escaped personal harm. Attention now turns to locking down both homes and the upcoming season.
