CeeDee Lamb says what makes new wide receiver George Pickens special for Dallas Cowboys offense ahead of 2025 NFL season

Who better to describe what George Pickens brings to the table than Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb?

Shortly after the trade, Lamb wasted no time in sending a message about there being no ego involved for him and he even went as far as saying there's no true WR1 on the team. Rather, he expects himself and Pickens to be co-ones on Brian Schottenheimer's new Cowboys offense.

But what makes him so confident in his new teammate? Allow him to explain.

"Man, we complement each other very well," Lamb told reporters. "Obviously, he's a tall figure. His ability to go up and get the ball at the highest point is amazing. I don't think there's anybody in the league that can really—I mean, he's up there with the guys in the league, you know, as far as 50/50 balls, deep threat."

That area in particular will go a long way for the Cowboys. Lamb is as versatile as it gets but he's at his most dangerous working from the slot. Having Pickens on the outside demanding coverage because of his big-play ability will only open the door for more opportunities for No. 88.

That being said, Pickens is more than just a contested catch specialist.

"Anything as far as running routes, it's pretty good," Lamb added.

For Lamb and Pickens, being on the same team will work as a reunion. Both players met each other during the latter's NFL Draft prep, a process in which Lamb helped Pickens by working out with him and teaching him about the game.

"I was giving him the little things that I learned as far as my first year in the league, and just passed him what I could while I could," Lamb said earlier in the week. "And I mean, it's crazy how things come full circle. Having him on the team now is—I mean, we’re catching up on everything that we left off."

We know about Pickens' and Lamb's talent. But hitting it off will be huge for the pair of wideouts that will need to get used to sharing targets. Sometimes, one of them will be short-handed. But as long as the offense is producing and points are put on the board, it should be smooth sailing if they can put their hunger for targets aside.
