The players have spoken.

The NFL Players Association released its team report cards for 2025 on Wednesday, which reflects across the 2024 season. The NFLPA garnered responses from 1,695 players across 32 teams.

The Los Angeles Chargers made a significant jump from 2024 to 2025. In conclusion to the 2024 season, the NFLPA ranked the Chargers 30th out of 32 teams. Despite a bottom three finish, the Chargers turned it around by finishing fifth this year.

In 2024 the Chargers earned an F for their food and cafeteria program, but in 2025 rose to an A- grade. The low grade came from poor performance in food taste, freshness and only 55% of players felt as if they had enough seating in the cafeteria. In 2025, the players rated the food taste 8.47 out of 10, food freshness 8.94 out of 10 and dining area 9.48 out of 10.

Another significant rise came within the locker room. In 2024 the players graded the locker room an F, but in 2025 it jumped to an A. Only 57% of players felt that the locker room is big enough, which rose to 96% in 2025.

Treatment of families saw an improvement amongst players. The athletes cited that daycare was provided but it was not onsite, causing inconvenience. In 2024 it was noted that the team charged $75 for the first child and $50 for each additional child per family. Now, the players grade the treatment of families a C. The strengths during the 2024 season came from players feeling that the team frequently organizes family events and provides daycare and a family room during home games.

The training room saw a poor grade in 2024 with a D+, but rose to an A+ in 2025. The increase came from high quality weight room equipment and players feeling like they had more than enough space to train.

A key reason for the jump from 30th to fifth is due to the Chargers investment in “The Bolt.” The 150,000 square-foot facility, which opened last year, displays three practice fields, a trio of training tubs, an outdoor lap pool, a players lounge and a separate coaches lounge. The $250 million dollar investment seems to be paying off amongst the athletes.

“It’s one of the best facilities in the nation,” Justin Herbert said of The Bolt. “They’ve done such a great job putting it together that, as players, we’re fortunate to be able to have a front office that cares so much about us. The way we respect it, clean up after ourselves, I know we’re going to do a great job taking care of it.”
