Charissa Thompson Sends Plea to Fox Sports on Erin Andrews

On Sunday, there was a rare sighting on the Fox Sports: Erin Andrews was zoomed in direct from Soldier Field in Chicago to the hub of the network's Sunday morning pregame show, where she spoke directly with Charissa Thompson, who was hosting the proceedings.

Fans of the Andrews-Thompson "Calm Down" podcast, which comes out twice weekly, might be surprised to know, but that's a first for the season. Not since last year's Super Bowl have Thompson and Andrews been on screen together.

"We were actually on teleivision together for the first time since the Super Bowl," Thompson said on "Calm Down" this week. "Shocking. I need everyone to start a petition to let Fox have us do a segment together more often, it's crazy behavior."

Andrews said that when she appeared from Chicago, wearing a dark winter coat with a faux fur collar, she was inundated with messages about the coat. She offered that as evidence that maybe there should be more women on the broadcasts.

"This, I will get on my female high horse," Andrews said. "You and I talking about being on a segment together? Guys, this just in: Women like sports! Women like to watch other women in sports. (That's) why, because I wear one friggin' jacket and my social media blows up."

Thompson joked that perhaps listeners should picket the Fox Sports headquarters in Los Angeles until the two are allowed more time on camera together.

"Dear Fox," she said, "please allow Erin and I to be on TV more often together. We understand, that maybe we don't need to do the whole show. But maybe a segment here and there would be awesome.  If you guys would not mind, going to 10201 West Pico Blvd. in los Angeles, California, and holding a poster board, asking to speak to the executives-that-be."

Maybe that will happen this week. Andrews will be back in the upper Midwest for Fox this week, broadcasting from the 49ers-Packers game in Green Bay, at 4:25 p.m. ET.
