The Chicago Bears enjoyed a strong 2025 season, and their success was largely driven by quarterback Caleb Williams. The 24-year-old delivered an impressive campaign that established him as one of the NFL’s top players.
Williams’ performance helped the Bears finish 11–6 and win the NFC North title last year. It also earned him Bears Offensive Player of the Year honors.
However, an NFL social media post featuring Williams sparked intense debate among football fans about his elite status. On Thursday, the league shared a photo of Williams and five other quarterbacks on Instagram.
“Feels like this QB class were rooks just yesterday,” the official NFL account wrote in the caption.

Popular fan account Bearssnz quickly reacted to the post, stating, “Caleb Williams is really the new face of the NFL wow.” That comment fueled a fan debate, with views on Williams’ premier status sharply divided.
“Caleb ‘can’t complete 50% of his passes’ Williams,” one user said.
“He still buns,” another commented.
“He has not won two playoff games. Think again,” wrote a football fan who targeted Williams’ postseason record.
“Unless he wears a Super Bowl ring, those words are a joke,” another said.
Bears fans quickly defended their star quarterback by pointing to his actual stats and praising his impact.
“58% completion percentage, so over 50. Nice try tho,” a supporter fired back.
“He’s the best one there no matter what,” another fan added.
During the 2025 season, Williams completed 330 of 568 passes in 17 games for a 58.1% completion rate. While this dropped from his 62.5% mark in 2024, the lower percentage did not hurt the Bears in terms of winning games.
The dip came after Williams shifted from short, easy throws to throwing the ball downfield more often. Under head coach Ben Johnson, the team used deep passes to create explosive plays and gain large chunks of yardage.
Averaging an 8.9-yard target depth, this aggressive style powered Williams to a Bears franchise-record 3,942 passing yards and seven game-winning drives. The young quarterback also finished the 2025 season with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
With those numbers, Williams’ production proved vital to one of the franchise’s most successful seasons in years. As Chicago moves into a new campaign, Bears fans believe his playmaking matters more than conventional statistics.
