There were rumors that quarterback Caleb Williams would want part ownership of the Chicago Bears before signing his rookie deal. However, there was never a possibility that the Bears could agree to a deal, as the league forbids players from ownership.
However, Williams made an important business move this week, becoming an investor in women’s soccer. Per Boston Legacy Football Club, Williams is investing in the club that will start play in 2026.
“Boston Legacy Football Club is pleased to welcome Caleb Williams, quarterback for the Chicago Bears and founder of strategic investment firm 888 Midas, to its investor group,” per a statement by BLFC.
Williams wanted to invest because he sees women’s sports as a movement.
“With 888 Midas, we are so excited to be part of the Boston Legacy Football Club,” Williams wrote in the news release. “Women’s sports is a movement, and I admire and respect the work that the team and the NWSL continues to do to grow the sport and empower future generations of athletes.
“Boston Legacy Football Club is building something special, and we’re proud to be a part of what’s next.”
