Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze made his first appearance during the wild-card round since playing the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 28.
Odunze suffered a foot injury in the Bears’ 24-15 win over the Eagles on Black Friday. He was made active for Chicago’s contest against the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 14, but suffered a setback during warmups and remained sidelined for the remainder of the regular season.
On Saturday night, Odunze recorded two receptions for 44 yards, hauling in a miracle throw on fourth down in the fourth quarter that allowed the Bears to eventually come back and defeat Green Bay 31-27.
Per Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times, Odunze is battling a stress fracture in his foot and said it was “tough” to manage the pain in Chicago’s win in the wild-card round.
“There was soreness, but at this part of the season, it’s all hands on deck and play through it,” Odunze said. “I’ll ride it ‘til the wheels fall off.”

The injury hasn’t healed up since Saturday night. Odunze was listed as a limited participant at practice for Wednesday and Thursday.
The Bears appear cautious in managing the injury during practice, trying to make sure he has the most to give the team during their home game against the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round on Sunday night.
Odunze was the Bears leading receiver before suffering the injury against the Eagles. The 2024 first-round pick recorded 44 receptions for 661 yards and six touchdowns during the regular season.
In recent weeks, quarterback Caleb Williams has been relying on rookie tight end Colston Loveland as a target. That trend could continue with Odunze battling injury.
