Xavier Worthy has played in just two of the Kansas City Chiefs' four games this season as a result of suffering a dislocated shoulder in the team's first game of the season after a collision with All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce.
Worthy, 22, was able to make his return last week in the team's 37-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens, which saw him record five catches for a team-high 83 yards, his status for the team's Week 5 "Monday Night Football" game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is up in the air.
Despite being able to practice in the week leading up to the game and seemingly being on track to play, the Chiefs made a surprising announcement on Sunday that indicates he's trending in the wrong direction.
In addition to his shoulder injury, the former first round pick out of Texas is also dealing with an ankle injury.
"Xavier Worthy (shoulder/ankle) is now questionable for Monday Night’s game," wrote the Chiefs.
With the Chiefs missing Rashee Rice (suspension) and potentially Worthy, they'll need names like Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Kelce to step up.
On the bright side for the Chiefs, three-time MVP and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes had his best outing of the season last week against the Ravens. So, if there was any offense in the league that could overcome the setback it'd be them.
