Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their second straight loss and will look to get back on track in Week 9. The Chiefs fell 28-24 to the Denver Broncos on Sunday after surrendering a late lead.
Kelce was one of Patrick Mahomes’ top targets. He finished with five catches for 67 yards and remained involved in the offense despite appearing uncomfortable at times.
The Chiefs will take on the New York Jets, hoping to avoid a third consecutive defeat when they return home on Sunday. However, Kelce’s availability is one of the situations the team will be monitoring.
Kelce has been playing through an ankle injury he sustained in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 37-year-old appeared to aggravate the injury during the loss to Denver. He was seen limping after a play in the second half, but managed to finish the game.
The Chiefs announced the latest update on Kelce after Wednesday’s practice, with the 11-time NFL Pro Bowler listed as a limited participant. The limited designation does not mean he is in danger of missing Sunday’s game. However, it is another indication that the issue he has been playing through remains a concern.
Mansoor Delane, Travis Kelce, Omarr Norman-Lott, Nikko Remigio, and Rashee Rice were limited in practice today.

Peter Woods did not practice.
Kansas City will keep a close eye on Kelce as the week progresses. The Chiefs sit second in the AFC West and will host a Jets team that has managed just two wins this season and lost three straight. Sunday’s game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET, with live coverage on CBS.
