Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes announces birth of daughter Sterling Skye

Patrick Mahomes' family got a little larger on Saturday.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his fiancée Brittany Matthews announced the birth of their daughter, Sterling Skye Mahomes, via Instagram on Sunday.

In a post-Super Bowl discussion with 610 Sports Radio Kansas City earlier this month, Mahomes admitted that he was "super excited" about having a baby girl. He also said he's excited for the journey "of trying to find ways to better myself and become the best dad that I can be."

Mahomes and Matthews first announced the pregnancy in September, shortly after the couple got engaged. They have been together since high school.
