Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Makes Request on Friday

Right now, Patrick Mahomes is working hard behind the scenes to get himself as healthy as possible heading into the new NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2025 that required surgery, and he has since been busy in his rehabilitation.

The goal for Mahomes is for him to be ready for the start of the 2026 season. There have been no reports of any setbacks in his recovery. At this point, it appears that the objective is a feasible target for the two-time All-Pro quarterback and the Chiefs.

Mahomes will be out for some revenge after Kansas City missed out on the playoffs last season for the first time since 2015.

When he’s not in the team facility working on his knee, Mahomes is also busy with his off-field endeavors. One of which is his Kansas City restaurant 1587 Prime, which he opened in September last year with teammate Travis Kelce.

1587 Prime is a high-end steakhouse located in the heart of KC. While there have been some unpleasant reviews on the establishment from critics, Mahomes and Kelce’s venture into the food industry has generally been met with positive feedback from its clients.

A testament to this fact is how 1587 Prime has received multiple nominations in the KC Star’s 2026 Kansas City Favorites.

Mahomes took to social media on Friday to make a request. He shared 1587 Prime’s announcement post via an Instagram story, which includes a link to the 2026 Kansas City Favorites voting page. Mahomes is urging his fans to show their support by voting for his restaurant.

According to the post, 1587 Prime has been nominated in four categories: Fine Dining, Steak, Wine Selection and Specialty Cocktails. The winners will be announced on July 12, and Mahomes is hoping for some good news, with some help from the fans.

Mahomes is coming off a forgettable 2025 season, at least by his extremely high standards. The two-time All-Pro QB completed 315 passes for 3,587 yards, 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
