Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have been inconsistent through the first half of the 2025 NFL season, falling to 5-4 after a Week 9 loss to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in an AFC Championship rematch. Now, the Chiefs look to bounce back and stay above .500 with a Week 11 road matchup against the AFC West–leading Denver Broncos.

Despite the inconsistency from Andy Reid’s team, the Chiefs remain among the league’s best on both sides of the ball. Mahomes has led Kansas City to 370.1 yards per game, ranking seventh in the NFL, while Steve Spagnuolo’s defense has held opponents to just 291.8 yards (sixth) and 17.7 points per game (fourth). And as the Chiefs aim to build momentum for another postseason run, they’re also continuing to make a difference off the field.

Since 1992, the Chiefs have held Red Friday, which is "a time when the community comes together to cheer on the Chiefs while giving back to and supporting local families in need." And over the last 12 years, Kansas City has sold Red Friday flags, with proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House Kansas City, which helps "reduce the burden of childhood illness on children and their families by providing a 'home away from home' while the children are receiving medical care in Kansas City-area hospitals."

"As one of our most meaningful traditions, Red Friday continues to show the incredible heart of Chiefs Kingdom," said Chiefs President Mark Donovan. "It embodies the vision of Lamar Hunt – bringing people together through football to do good in our community. Hitting the $1 million mark again this year is a testament to that shared generosity and spirit."

This year, the Chiefs helped raise $1 million for the foundation, bringing their total to $7.5 million over the past decade. And Kansas City celebrated this year's mark with a social media post, which featured numerous images of the team at different events.

"Last month, we had a special day at @rmh_kc to celebrate the impact of this year’s Red Friday, which raised $1 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City," the Chiefs wrote on X. "We are proud to support their mission of keeping families together when it matters most ❤️"

The Chiefs will take on the Broncos on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
