Chiefs WR Juju Smith-Schuster enters concussion protocol after scary hit

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Sunday that wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster has been placed in the concussion protocol after being on the receiving end of a brutal hit against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The play happened in the first half and resulted in Smith-Schuster appearing to be knocked out. 

He was hit by Jaguars safety Andrew Cisco.

There was initially a penalty on the play for a hit on a defenseless receiver, but it was picked up and not assessed.

After remaining down on the field for several moments, Smith-Schuster was able to walk off the field with the assistance of teammates. 

He was ruled out for the remainder of the game and placed in the protocol.
