Chiefs' Xavier Worthy Details Improvement Ahead Of Year 2

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy is coming off a solid rookie season and is now looking to take his game to the next level in 2025.

Coming off a year that saw the speed merchant post 638 yards and six touchdowns from his 59 receptions in the regular season, along with 287 yards and three touchdowns in three playoff games, more is expected in Year 2.

Sometimes it can be a whirlwind for rookies in their first year, but as the season goes on and into the following offseason, things start to make sense.

And for Worthy, things are starting to come together for him.

“Just having a better understanding for the playbook,” Worthy said. “Now it's another year in the offense so I have a better understanding for the plays, a better understanding for the zones, what teams are going to throw at me. So just understanding schematics.”

Now that Worthy has a better understanding of what defenses are going to throw at him, plus knowing the little details of the offense better, Worthy could be set for a big leap in 2025.

With other weapons in Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown, and Juju Smith-Schuster, Worthy might see some favorable looks in the passing game, and given his speed, Patrick Mahomes' deep ball might be back.

Still, we are early in the offseason, but it is clear Worthy feels more comfortable in Andy Reid's offense as he looks to take the league by storm in Year 2 and be a driving force behind Kansas City's bounce-back season.
