Tim Tebow’s next chapter in sports won’t come on the field, but in the boardroom.

The former Florida Gators quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner has teamed up with Orlando-based Magnolia Hill Partners to launch Momentous Sports, an investment platform designed to acquire stakes in professional teams and related real estate projects. The group is targeting $100 million for its first fund this fall, according to Sportico.

John Elway, Blake Bortles Join Tim Tebow’s Venture

Tebow isn’t going it alone. He’s joined by Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway, former NFL starter Blake Bortles and Chick-fil-A CEO Andrew Cathy, who is investing through his private real estate firm. Their first major move: becoming the largest outside investor in United Soccer League expansion club Sporting JAX, with plans to expand into other opportunities.

Momentous Sports is the largest external investor in the USL expansion club Sporting JAX, located in Jacksonville, Florida. The company plans to invest in a development near the team's future stadium. Tebow grew up near Jacksonville and has been a minority owner of the team since 2022. He will work with the Orlando-based company to identify additional opportunities.

Future Plans Could Extend Into College Sports

The group could also eventually move to the college ranks. With the new era of name, image and likeness (NIL) and athletic departments becoming more professionalized, the group isn't ruling anything out. As of now, it hopes its Sporting JAX investment can be a prototype as it expands its portfolio.

For Tebow, the move is about more than diversifying investments. It reflects the same drive that made him one of college football’s most iconic competitors and a leader beyond the game. By aligning with Elway, Bortles and Cathy, he’s entering an arena where business decisions can shape franchises, fuel development and even transform communities.

If Momentous Sports succeeds, Tebow could be remembered not only as a national champion and Heisman winner, but also as a figure who helped redefine how athletes approach life after football.
