Caleb Williams has drawn a lot of attention following his strong performances in the 2025 season. Many have talked about his demeanor and attitude, and Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland recently chimed in.

The quarterback is coming off a campaign where he completed 330-of-568 passes for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He added 77 rushing attempts for 388 yards and three scores. More importantly, he led Chicago to an NFC North title with an 11-6 record and reached the Divisional Round.

Loveland, on the other hand, emerged as one of Williams’ favorite targets. He recorded 58 receptions for 713 yards and six touchdowns in 16 regular-season games. His impressive rookie year has set him up for a bigger role in 2026.

Loveland stressed that Williams looks ready to go for the start of the new season. He also emphasized how the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner has motivated him and the team to do even better.

“Huge impact, obviously, him being the leader of our team, the quarterback, everyone looks up to him,” Loveland said. “With anything, you build confidence over time. Him being more confident, I think that spreads throughout the team for sure. And you could tell he’s ready to go.”

Reporters also asked Loveland about Bears general manager Ryan Poles’ comments about Williams appearing to be happier.

“He looks a little bit and (Chicago head coach) Ben (Johnson) described him as goofy in a loving way,” Loveland said. “Letting his personality show a little more. And that’s good to see, him just being himself out there.”

Loveland will serve as Chicago’s TE1, with Cole Kmet playing behind him. He proved last year that he belongs in the NFL and justified the team using the No. 10 overall pick on him. The Michigan product enjoyed a strong collegiate career, winning the national championship with the program in 2023.

The Bears will begin their season with a road matchup with the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 13. Loveland and Co. will then host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 at Soldier Field. The second-year tight star’s production will be key, especially with Chicago aiming to surpass their achievements in 2025.
