Commanders Hire Former Cardinals Coach
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Another former Arizona Cardinals coach is heading to the Washington Commanders.

According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter:

"Commanders hired former Buccaneers assistant coach David Raih as their tight ends coach, reuniting him with Kliff Kingsbury, whom he worked with in Arizona."

Kingsbury was recently hired as Washington's offensive coordinator under new head coach Dan Quinn after initially bowing out of the same job offer with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Raih first entered the league with the Green Bay Packers in 2014, where he slowly worked his way up from a coaching administrator to assistant OL coach, offensive perimeter coach, and wide receivers coach before landing in Arizona in 2019 coaching wideouts.

In 2021, he left to be the offensive coordinator at Vanderbilt. He spent last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their senior offensive analyst.

More from his coaching profile:

"During his time in Arizona, Raih coached wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and DeAndre Hopkins. Fitzgerald played the final two seasons of his career under Raih's direction, breaking an NFL record for the most consecutive seasons with 50-or-more receptions (17). In his lone season with Raih as his position coach in 2020, Hopkins earned first team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. He ranked second in the NFL in receptions (115), third in receiving yards (1,407), second in receiving first downs (75) and fifth in yards after catch (528)."
