It's been a turbulent season on the injury front for Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders so far. Slowly but surely, the tide is turning.

Superstar quarterback Jayden Daniels returned and didn't miss a beat during Washington's sensational Week 5 road win over the Los Angeles Chargers. This was the morale boost everyone needed, and Quinn revealed there could be more good news on the way heading into Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.

And it was the news every Commanders fan was desperate to hear.

Commanders could get Terry McLaurin and others back from injury in Week 6

Quinn revealed that the Commanders could be getting several key men back into the mix this weekend. The coach didn't confirm anything for sure, but he remains hopeful that second-team All-Pro wide receiver Terry McLaurin could find his way back into the fold after a two-game absence.

We'll make sure we take all the right steps. Just like we do with all the guys. If they're able to, you know, fully express how they play and do the thing, then we're there. And if not, we'll have to keep waiting, but we won't decide yet. But with having an extra day, that never hurts going into it. But as we get a few more days from now, I think I'll have a better sense for if it's able to be done and what it looks like and how they're responding to it.Dan Quinn via Commanders.com

McLaurin has been dealing with a quad issue, but he wasn't placed on injured reserve. Obviously, it remains a step-by-step process, and the Commanders won't risk him unless there is 100 percent confidence that no additional problems will surface. However, this cannot be seen as anything other than positive as Washington looks to make another impression on the primetime stage.

Others also have a chance to suit up. Noah Brown has been on and off the field in recent months, but he's making good progress. Sam Cosmi, the stud right guard who tore his ACL in the Commanders' memorable playoff win over the Detroit Lions, could also feature after having his 21-day window opened last week. That would be the most considerable boost imaginable, although Andrew Wylie has performed well on the interior in recent weeks.

The Commanders weathered the storm and are coming out on the other end smiling. While the long-term absentees aren't ideal, this squad has enough resolve to overcome almost anything.

That said, the Commanders will be significantly stronger with McLaurin, Cosmi, and Brown available. They have a tough stretch of games upcoming, so it's all hands to the pump in pursuit of strengthening the team's postseason aspirations.
