At the start of this week, only two running backs in the NFL were making more money per year than Miami Dolphins star De’Von Achane. Now there are three in total after Bijan Robinson and the Atlanta Falcons came to terms on an extension that makes Robinson the highest-paid back in league history.

Robinson signed a three-year deal that could pay him up to $75 million, and all the numbers behind the deal make Miami’s decision to extend Achane at the amount they did look even better in hindsight.

First off, Robinson — a two-time Pro Bowler and First Team All-Pro member in 2025 — is set to make around double the amount of guaranteed money that Achane will make in four years in three. A whopping $51 million of Robinson’s mega deal is guaranteed, while Achane’s got just $32 million in guaranteed money in comparison.

The discrepancy between Robinson’s and Achane’s deals is just as striking when you look at how much they will make annually over the duration of their deals. Robinson is set to make $22.5 million per year, while Achane will earn just over 70 percent of that mark at $16 million.
