Las Vegas Raiders fans are holding their collective breath amid Ashton Jeanty’s latest injury.
Several reporters confirmed on Sunday that Jeanty suffered a potentially serious knee injury during practice at Intermountain Health Performance Center in Henderson, Nev. The second-year running back hurt himself while making a diving play on a low throw from quarterback Kirk Cousins during the team period of practice.
According to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden, Jeanty’s Raiders teammates all took a knee and said a prayer as the 22-year-old was taken off the field. Per the report, Jeanty “could not put pressure” on his right leg. The Raiders have yet to provide details on the severity of Jeanty’s injury.
Jeanty carried the Raiders’ entire run game on his back last season. The Boise State alum rushed for 975 yards and 5 touchdowns across 17 games during his rookie campaign.
The Raiders had the least productive run offense in the league in 2025. The team ranked dead last in rushing yards (1,317) and rushing touchdowns (5), with Jeanty as the team’s only reliable rushing option.
Las Vegas listed rookie running back Mike Washington Jr. as Jeanty’s backup in the team’s last unofficial depth chart. Washington, a fourth-round pick selected out of Arkansas, tallied 1,070 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns in his final college season.
