Cowboys Announce George Pickens News on Thursday

George Pickens and the Dallas Cowboys have not had the start to the 2026 NFL season they were hoping for, dropping to 2-4 after a 23-13 loss to Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. Now, the Cowboys will look to avoid a three-game losing streak in Week 7, remaining on the road to take on Tanner McKee and NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles.

Pickens had a career year during his first season in Dallas, recording 93 catches for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns, all of which were career highs. However, to begin the 2026 season, his second with the Cowboys, the former Pittsburgh Steelers and Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver has struggled to get things going, tallying 33 catches for 428 yards and a touchdown.

Yet ahead of the Cowboys vs. Eagles matchup, Dallas listed Pickens as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice due to a shoulder injury. The wideout has notably been seen with ice on his shoulder over the last two games, yet the injury is not expected to keep Pickens out against Philadelphia.

While Pickens hopes to return to full practice ahead of Week 7, the Cowboys are dealing with numerous other injuries as well. Wide receiver KaVontae Turpin (ribs) and linebacker Dee Winters (calf) did not practice, while, like Pickens, cornerback Cobie Durant (hamstring), tackle Tyler Guyton (calf) and linebacker Marist Liufau (forearm) were limited participants.

“George Pickens officially limited on Thursday. He’s had ice on his shoulder the last two games,” ESPN’s Todd Archer wrote on X. “Don’t think this is something that will keep him out this week. Tyler Guyton was also limited with a calf issue.”

The Cowboys will take on the Eagles on Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET before returning home to face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8.
