When the Dallas Cowboys hired Brian Schottenheimer, it was met with a collective groan from the masses, but the more people are hearing him talk, the more they are beginning to like the hire.
With Schottenheimer allowing a host of Dallas legends to OTA practice on Friday, there was an overwhelming sense that Schotty is doing everything the right way, and the players are fully bought in.
Granted, we haven't played a single down yet, and it's June, but there are positive vibes coming out of The Star right now, and that's certainly better than the alternative.
For CBS Sports' Jerr Kerr, his one burning question for Dallas is whether or not Schottenheimer is the right person to lead the Cowboys.
"The hire certainly wasn't a sexy one, but those are the ones that usually pay off," Kerr writes. "The Cowboys are banking on the culture built by Schottenheimer to get them deep into the playoffs, as he knows the ins and outs of the organization after having been in a Dallas for a few seasons.
"Schottenheimer will get a few years to see if his vision pays off, but he's taking over a team with roster issues that won't be addressed in 2025. The end game for the Cowboys is the Super Bowl after all, a drought that stands at 29 years."
As two-time Super Bowl champion Tony Casillas said, Schottenheimer is off to one hell of a start this offseason, and in truth, we won't know if he was the right hire or not until he is no longer the head coach.
So it is a question that can't really be answered for a couple of years. If he wins a Super Bowl, then yes. If he doesn't, then he wasn't.
But right now, all Schottenheimer can do is try to put his stamp on this Dallas team, with culture being a big emphasis for the first-time head coach.
And the answer to whether he is the right man for the job will be known in due time.
