Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb finally has a running mate in George Pickens, but his new teammate comes with a reputation that some think is a red flag.
Known for his fiery personality on the field and reported off-field issues with missed meetings, Pickens comes to The Star looking to change the perception of him as a person and player.
Calling himself a "chill guy" as Dallas began OTAs at The Star, Pickens has said and done all the right things since arriving, and he will be looking to make the most of his time with the Cowboys.
But as for the "narrative" surrounding George? Lamb has his thoughts on that.
“I knew who he was as a player just watching him at the Steelers and how passionate he is about the game,” Lamb said. “I think they kind of get it confused, you're so passionate about something, you're willing to do anything for it, right? So as far as winning goes, and I mean just being happy in an organization, not saying he wasn't, not saying that he was, but he hasn't stopped smiling since he got here, so I start with that.”
Change is as good as a holiday, and maybe Pickens just needed a fresh look to continue his career.
He'll get that in Dallas and with a Brian Schottenheimer culture that emphasizes relationships and togetherness, Pickens might have landed in just the right spot.
With his new teammates already in his corner, maybe the 2025 season is where we see the Pickens narrative start to shift into positive territory.
And we hope George's "passion," as CeeDee calls it, manifests itself into something positive for the Cowboys.
