Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is no spring chicken anymore, being 31 years old, time is running out for that elusive Super Bowl.
As Dak enters Year 10 in the NFL, the passion and desire to hoist that Lombardi trophy are still as high as ever, and now he's paired with a head coach in Brian Schottenheimer who can match that passion.
Having openly expressed the desire to win the Super Bowl and truly believing that they have the players in the locker room to achieve it, for Prescott, as he enters yet another season, he's revealed what motivates him at this point in his career.
"Having fun and winning the Super Bowl, period," Prescott said. "It's what I want from this game and I know it's what everyone wants in this locker room, we got a head coach who I know is hungry for it.
"That is the urgency that I carry with just the love and the passion of this game, is not only wanting a win for myself, but one win for this organization. It's been well damn long enough. But knowing what it'll do for the guys in the locker room, and we got to keep that at the forefront of our mind."
The Cowboys have many skeptics entering 2025, with some thinking Schottenheimer is going to have a tough time of it in Year 1, but like us, there are others who are bullish on Dallas.
Does that mean Super Bowl? Hmm, we can't bring ourselves to say that, but a playoff team? Absolutely.
Granted, a lot has to go right for playoff football to be achieved, but one thing is for sure, the offseason so far has been fun for the locker room with Schottenheimer bringing the energy and juice to a team that needed a change-up.
And with Prescott entering the second phase of his NFL career, he knows that time is of the essence if he wants to win a Super Bowl.
Who knows, maybe it will be this year.
