Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer inadvertently proves he's special right after Micah Parsons tried to prank him

You knew it was a matter of time until Dallas Cowboys superstar defender Micah Parsons hopped on one of the latest viral social media trends. This one consists of something simple and wholesome, even: Guys calling their friends to wish them good night.

The trend has generated thousands and thousands of videos generating all sorts of reactions. Mostly, it's laughter and surprise because let's be honest. Dudes don't do that often, if at all.

Tyler Smith told Parsons he made his night, telling his teammate "that's good for my mentals, that's what I needed." Trevon Diggs asked him "you on that TikTok (expletive)?" Osa Odighizuwa and KaVontae Turpin simply laughed out loud.

But Schottenheimer's response might've been the best one as the prank appeared to go over his head and after hearing Parsons was doing alright, he immediately took the chance to send a message to one of his best players even though he wasn't aware he was being recorded.

“Look, I know this is weird for everybody man, but look, you’re handling everything the right way bro, and this thing is going to get worked out," Schottenheimer told Parsons over the phone while Parsons nodded to the camera. "And again, I’m just thrilled to see where we take this thing. We’re building something special and you’re going to be a huge part of it.”

For a coach who is all about culture and energy, it's important for it to be genuine. Well, it doesn't get any more genuine than a behind the scenes look at a simple phone call between player and coach.

Something else that stood out during the prank call was Schottenheimer telling Parsons he looked forward to seeing him Monday. Cowboys' mandatory minicamp starts Tuesday and the star edge rusher has publicly stated he will attend despite not signing a contract extension just yet.
