Cowboys Legend Michael Irvin Assigns Blame for Micah Parsons’ Trade: ‘Blew Your Job’

The blockbuster trade that sent star linebacker Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers sent shockwaves throughout the NFL. The shocking part of this deal is the simple fact that it happened, as generational talents like Parsons don't often get moved, especially at 26 years old.

As per usual, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin has an opinion on the highly criticized move his former team made ahead of the 2025 campaign. Irvin never shies away from speaking his mind, especially when it comes to the team that he helped win three Super Bowl titles during his playing career.

Irvin appeared on "The Dan Patrick Show" to share his thoughts on whom he believes is to blame for Parsons no longer suiting up for the Cowboys, and it is not longtime team owner and general manager Jerry Jones. Even though many analysts and former NFL players have gone after Jones for the Parsons trade, Irvin has a different take entirely, as he believes Parsons' agent, David Mulugheta, is to blame.

Irvin reacted to Mulugheta's statements during the agent's appearance on ESPN's "First Take."

"He said, 'Micah wants to be a Dallas Cowboy,'" Irvin stated. "Then your next statement is null and void to me... Everything else is null and void because your job, you blew your job... That's your job to get the most money from the Dallas Cowboys. That was your job, and they failed at it."

With Irvin maintaining a close relationship with Jones over the years, it's not all that surprising that he would not point the finger at his old boss. An argument could be made that all parties involved were to blame for the Cowboys ultimately trading one of the best linebackers in the league in the prime of his NFL career.

It'll be interesting to see how things pan out with this blockbuster trade and which team will be perceived as the losing end. It's easy to say the Packers came out on top right now, but only time will tell.
