FRISCO - Legendary entertainer Denzel Washington possesses a deep passion for something other than acting; he's a Dallas Cowboys-lovin' fan ... just like you.

And he's bothered by the direction of "America's Team'' under the guidance of owner Jerry Jones ... probably just like you.

Washington made an appearance on ESPN’s “First Take” show to promote his new movie "Highest 2 Lowest,'' and he took the opportunity to criticize the Cowboys' decision-making process while simultaneously partially blaming Jerry Jones for the franchise's 30-year Super Bowl dry spell.

Denzel on Jerry: “He ain’t thinking about us. He’s thinking about his pocket ... There is box office and there is Oscars. Jerry, been a while, huh? Ain’t been to the show, you wouldn’t know. Ain’t been to the show, wouldn’t know. Haven’t been to the show, wouldn’t know ... what it is to win.”

The two-time Academy Award winner, waxing poetic in a conversation with host Stephen A. Smith and filmmaker Spike Lee, added, "I don’t like what (Jerry) is doing … I respect the owner, but I don’t like what it’s doing to the fans.''

Cowboys and NFL fans alike had positive takes on what they see as Denzel's truth-hurts presentation regarding what we might term Jerry's PR-first (and money-making-first) operation.

Via Twitter ...

“Facts, Please relay to Jerry & Stephen, the fans want Micah (Parsons) signed, stop waiting so long to pay top players, hire a GM, quit kicking the can at RB, and stop talking football in the media, that’s the head coach’s job. As Emmitt Smith said, the business isn’t aligned with football operations.”

From another ...

“Didn’t know my goat is a Cowboys fan and he called Jerry a clown on live tv. Greatest aura ever.''

And a third ...

“Denzel calling out Jerry Jones wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card. And I’m absolutely here for it,” another fan said.

Washington, 70, said he's been a Cowboys fan since the 1960's and that while Jerry makes it hard on him as a follower, he'll continue to wear his Cowboys cap and express his Dallas "love.''

But he dropped the hammer on Jones one more time with a line written as if from a movie script.

"All money ain’t good money, Jerry!" Washington said.
