The Dallas Cowboys are making a big decision at running back, according to EVP Stephen Jones. Running back Miles Sanders is out for the season, Jones announced on 105.3 The Fan on Friday. That means he will land on season-ending Injured Reserve due to a knee/ankle injury.
The news means fifth-round rookie running back Jaydon Blue—who made his NFL regular season debut last weekend—will take over as the No. 2 in the running back depth chart behind starter Javonte Williams.
The unfortunate injury update indirectly answers one of the most pressing questions for Cowboys Nation, which was how involved would Blue be moving forward? Now we know, though expect Williams to remain the offense's "bell cow," as head coach Brian Schottenheimer labeled him earlier in the week.
Miles Sanders played four games for the Cowboys this season and rushed 20 times for 117 yards and a touchdown.
CeeDee Lamb, KaVontae Turpin, Tyler Booker, Jack Sanborn are out for Sunday at Carolina.
