DALLAS - The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders - in some ways as iconic as the Cowboys themselves - also sometimes feature key performers who choose to move on.

Yes, the Cheerleaders are losing several of their members to retirement this year.

Claire Wolford is one of the ones who will not be back in uniform for the 2024 NFL season. She has been a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders since beginning her time in 2020.

"Not quite sure how to wrap up the best 4 years of my life and a dream come true This team gave me a family, memories, and opportunities to last a lifetime. Thank you Jesus!!! I love you forever @dccheerleaders," she posted on social media.

Those who pay attention to the squad - and you know you do, in some capacity! - are expressing some sadness over the changing of the guard.

Some social media notes from some fans ...

"Noooo I’m sad!!!!!! So proud of you Claire! I can’t believe this chapter is closing. From bubble boot buds to a forever friendship… love you so much!!!! Can’t wait to see what you do next! " one fan posted.

"Crying. A forever superstar but somehow even more beautiful on the inside. So blessed this journey brought us together. ❤️ love you so much & am so proud of you," a fan stated.

"I AM YOUR #1 FAN! You have no idea the impact you’ve made on everyone and especially me. You have a heart of gold. I have so much I can say but I also am crying at this post. ILY more than anything. Can’t wait to squeeze you✨" one fan exclaimed.

Along with the retirements come tryouts ... so the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will high-kick on.
