Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is staying in Philadelphia after agreeing to rework his contract.

Dallas Goedert Contract Details

Goedert, 30, was entering the final year of his four-year, $57 million contract.

Philadelphia wanted to decrease Goedert’s annual salary of $14.25 million through a restructured deal. The Eagles explored trade options this past offseason.

Goedert reportedly drew interest from several teams, but a deal was never finalized.

Instead of exploring more trade options, Goedert worked with Eagles GM Howie Roseman on a reworked deal.

Per Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Jeff McLane, the restructured deal is official. Goedert will play with the Eagles in 2025.

Goedert’s salary moves from $14.25 million to $10 million. However, the deal includes up to $1 million in incentives.

The Eagles drafted Goedert in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Goedert eventually supplanted veteran Zach Ertz as the full-time starter at tight end.

Goedert has 349 receptions for 4,085 yards and 24 touchdowns in seven seasons with the Eagles.

Goedert missed seven games during the 2024 regular season due to injuries. However, the tight end led the Eagles with 17 receptions and 215 receiving yards during their postseason run that ended with a victory in Super Bowl LIX.

Eagles Tried To Reduce Their Cap Number

The Eagles have built one of the best rosters in the NFL. That’s usually the case if you dominantly win the Super Bowl.

Like any great team, the trick is to sign the marquee players to long-term deals, find rookies who can start, and know when to let players walk in free agency.

The Eagles have quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, right tackle Lane Johnson, linebacker Zack Baun, center Cam Jurgens, guard Landon Dickerson, and tackle Jordan Mailata all locked up for the foreseeable future.

The Eagles will eventually have to pay big money to talented players like Jalon Walker.

To help offset the expenses, the Eagles released Darius Slay, traded C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and allowed Milton Williams and Josh Sweat to leave in free agency.
