D’Andre Swift and the Chicago Bears are less than a week away from commencing their 2026 regular season. Ben Johnson has prepared the team well as they enter a crucial campaign with a lot to improve. The veteran running back shared the training changes he has had under his head coach.
Swift appeared and started 16 regular-season games last year. He recorded 223 rushing attempts for a career-high 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns. The 27-year-old added 34 receptions for 299 yards and one score. He will remain Chicago’s RB1 in a contract year and will play a key role in its quest to surpass last season’s achievements.
Meanwhile, Johnson is entering his second year at the helm. He proved to the team’s front office that he is the right man for the job, living up to expectations by guiding the Bears to winning the NFC North and reaching the Divisional Round.
Swift addressed reporters in Sunday. He talked about Chicago’s state ahead of the new season and revealed the changes in his training under Johnson.
“I always train hard and was always a hard worker and things like that when I’m away from the team,” Swift said. “But just having a better sense of the offense, second year going into it, knowing what Ben wants to see from me and things like that. So me being very critical of little stuff, landmarks, aiming points and things like that. Then I go out there and play fast and play the way I need to.”
D’Andre Swift on if he’s changed his Training heading into Year 2 under Ben Johnson:
“I always train hard when I’m away from the team, but entering Year 2, I have a much better sense of the Offense and what Ben wants to see from me. Being hyper-critical of the little details,… pic.twitter.com/db70IDMDaB
