Davante Adams Development Emerges Before Rams-Colts Game

Davante Adams has had a noteworthy start for the Los Angeles Rams. After signing a two-year contract worth $44 million with L.A. in the offseason, the Rams have wasted little time integrating Adams into their offense.

In his first three games, the three-time All-Pro wide receiver has already recorded 13 catches for 213 yards and two touchdowns. Adams hasn’t been eased into the offense, and it is clear that he’s already established himself as a trusted target for star quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Adams, however, has been dealing with a hamstring injury that has limited his participation all week ahead of the Rams’ matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. In fact, the Rams listed Adams as questionable to play, which cast serious doubt on his availability against the Colts.

The good news for L.A. is that Adams is now expected to be ready to play on Sunday, at least according to ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter.

“Rams WR Davante Adams, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a hamstring injury, is expected to play vs. the Colts, per source,” Schefter reported on X on Saturday night.

This is a significant boost for the Rams, whose passing game has been inconsistent to start the new season. Stafford needs a reliable wideout, and Adams, despite not being 100% healthy, should be able to fill that role.

Not only does Adams’ presence give Stafford a viable target, but the fact that the six-time Pro Bowler commands significant defensive attention from the Colts could also open things up for L.A.’s other pass-catchers as well as their running game.

After starting the season with two straight wins, the Rams suffered their first loss of the campaign in Week 3, falling to the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, by a score of 33-26. They will be looking to get back to winning ways on Sunday, but they face a tough test in the Colts, who are one of the few remaining undefeated teams in the NFL this season.
