Deion Sanders’ Scathing Browns Tweet Resurfaces After Team Drafts Son Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns finally put an end to Shedeur Sanders' slide in the 2025 NFL draft. After passing on him in the third round to select Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, the Browns worked their way back around to Sanders in the fifth round.

Sanders was at one point widely expected to be a top-five pick. Seeing him slide to the fifth round was an absolute shock for everyone.

Now, he has landed in Cleveland and will be taking his talents to a team who badly needs a long-term franchise quarterback.

Following the Browns trading up to land Sanders, an old tweet from his dad, the legendary Deion Sanders, has resurfaced.

Back on March 13, 2018, Sanders ripped into Cleveland and suggested that no young quarterback should ever play to the Browns.

"I love what the Browns have done this offseason but if I'm a young QB ain't no way I'm going to Cleveland," he wrote on X. "I would pull a ELI MANNING if possible."

Obviously, that tune will change now that his son is a new member of the team.

After the move to draft Sanders, Cleveland now has five quarterbacks on its roster. Alongside Sanders and Gabriel, the Browns have Deshaun Watson, Kenny Pickett, and Joe Flacco in their quarterback room.

Early on in the pre-draft process, Cleveland was linked heavily to making Sanders the No. 2 overall pick. Being able to land him in the fifth round was a major win.

The Browns took to social media to share an edit showing Sanders in a Cleveland uniform following their decision to trade up for him.
