The Cleveland Browns were hammered by the Chicago Bears, 31-3, in a rough Week 15 outing. The Bears dominated from start to finish. Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders had a night to forget, a big step back after a strong performance the week before.

His father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, addressed the loss on social media.

“Well, it didn’t come out like we wanted it to, but we’re thankful that the outcome taught us things that will ultimately bless us on our journey. #CoachPrime,” he wrote in an Instagram story. The message was calm and forward-looking.

The box score made the pain clear. Sanders went 18-of-35 for 177 yards, zero touchdowns and three interceptions. His passer rating was 30.3. He was sacked five times and hit repeatedly.

One potential touchdown to Jerry Jeudy bounced off the receiver and became an interception. Sanders admitted he wanted plays back.

“I’m the same person regardless,” he said per heavy.com. “You gotta get out there, learn from it, play better and that’s it.”

Coach Kevin Stefanski said Sanders remains the starting quarterback. “We’ll look at it,” Stefanski said after the game, promising a review of film. The team still has three games left against the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, and Stefanski confirmed the rookie will lead the offense through the end of the season.

There are bigger questions in Cleveland. Injuries have turned the offensive line into a patchwork front. Reporters noted 15 total hits on Sanders. Critics wonder if the Browns will chase a new franchise QB in 2026. Mock drafts already link names like Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, the Heisman Trophy winner, to Cleveland.

Playoffs are a distant thought for the Browns. For Deion, the message set a tone. It was short. Very steady. It hinted at growth. And it asked fans to trust the process.

Cleveland (3-11) hosts Buffalo (10-4) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday on CBS.
