BREAKING: De’Von Achane OUT Weeks with Soft Tissue Injury

Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network reports that Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane has a soft tissue injury in his lower body that will keep him out “days & weeks. ”

McDaniel said, per Cam Wolfe, that he is not concerned about Achane’s status for Week 1 of the regular season.

Achane is going into his 3rd season as a member of the Miami Dolphins and is their lead running back, who is poised for a big season.

In 2024, Achane ran for 907 yards on 203 attempts and had six rushing touchdowns. Receiving, he was a significant threat as well, with 78 receptions for 592 yards and six touchdowns receiving.

His PFF numbers were off the charts as well; he ranked 13th out of 47th out of all running backs last season with an overall grade of 81.6.

Receiving, he ranked 5th out of 47th with a receiving grade of 80.6

Rushing, he ranked 13th overall out of 47 running backs with a grade of 82.8.

McDaniel said Zach Sieler will also be out “days to weeks” with a similar injury. And again, he thinks he should be fine by week 1 of the regular season.

If this injury lingers, expect to see a larger dose of Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon early in the season.

Wright currently is the backup running back, but he has been uninspiring through training camp and two preseason games thus far.

Ollie Gordon, the Dolphins ‘ sixth-round draft pick this past April, has looked outstanding thus far and may be on the verge of passing Wright on the depth chart.

If he does, he will then be in store for a heavier workload heading into the regular season, as I am sure Miami will be very careful with Achane’s snap counts early in the year, even if he is on the field playing.
