The New York Giants have dropped three games in as many weeks this season. The offense showed signs of life in Week 2, but after watching the Dallas Cowboys' defense get torched in Week 3, that may have been just a fluke.
That's why head coach Brian Daboll took the fans' side after the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Boos were loud at MetLife Stadium, and Daboll actually shares that sentiment.
"Look, I would be booing, too, to be honest with you, in terms of not being good enough, not scoring, not finishing," Daboll said after the game, via Kevin Patra of the NFL's website. "I understand that. That's the nature of it. We got to do better."
Of course, he wouldn't put all the blame on the quarterback, but he didn't want to make up any excuses.
"Yeah, I'd just say overall offensively nothing was good enough," he said. "Coaching, playing. Didn't do a good enough job. Everybody."
Wilson finished the night with 18 completions on 32 attempts for 160 yards and two head-scratching interceptions. He was also 0-for-6 with two picks on throws over 20 yards.
The Giants have a promising rookie waiting for his turn, and while he didn't seem to be ready when he first entered the league, chances are he can't do much worse than Wilson right now.
Jaxson Dart is the future of the team, and with the way the former Super Bowl champion is playing and Daboll's seat getting hotter by the day, it wouldn't be crazy to see him take the field at some point in Week 4 if Wilson's struggles continue against the Los Angeles Chargers.
